“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people.”
Indian culture refers to the amalgamation of distinct and unique cultures of all religions and communities that exist in India. It is a diverse country and the customs, traditions, food, music, religion and dance differs from place to place within the nation. The diversity in Indian culture is known across the world.
India is multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-lingual and multi-religious society. People in India speak different languages and have diverse lingual tones.
Students of Grades III- V celebrated the colours and diversity of India by putting up a cultural amalgamation of states from different parts of the country. The highlighted states were Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujrat, Assam and Rajasthan. They showcased the local cuisine and also shared information about the states. This activity helped explain and understand ‘ Unity in Diversity’. The Social Science teacher brought out the differences between each state and explained that in spite of the differences, the country was one.
Cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but rather cultural diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all of humanity.
