Project Veer Gatha Edition 2

“Either I will come back after hoisting the Tricolour, or I will come back wrapped in it. But I’ll be back for sure.” – Captain Vikram Batra (Param Veer Chakra)

Imperial Heritage School, Sector 102, Gurugram, expressed its admiration and gratitude to the Indian Defence Forces by organizing an event on CBSE Veer Gatha Project- edition 2 with great zeal.

The Veer Gatha project aims to raise awareness about the brave acts and sacrifices of the Gallantry Award winners among school students. In order to disseminate the details of acts of bravery and the life stories of these brave hearts among the students, a motivational and inspirational session was organized where Capt. Bhupendra Khatana, the chief guest, illuminated students with his wonderful discourse. Capt. Khatana is a retired fighter pilot and a Kargil war veteran.

Capt Khatana embodied the gallantry saga of the great air warriors of the IAF and gave a close view of the sacrifices of our soldiers so that we can live a better tomorrow. As the session drew to an end, students were full of questions and he took up each one that was asked. Students were keen to know what inspired him to join the Indian Airforce and also asked him about the process to join the Defence Forces. They were also very keen to get first hand information on the Kargil war and the emotions that one goes through while at the border, with the enemy just across the border. On the whole, it was a highly enlightening experience.
