Empowering a Safe and Respectful Workplace at Imperial Heritage School
On November 23, 2024, Imperial Heritage School, Sector-102, Gurugram, conducted a session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act (POSH Act, 2013), led by the esteemed Mrs. Kuljit Kaur (Ex- Seceretery General of AIWC and now In- charge of Safety and Legal rights).
This session aimed to educate and sensitize the staff about workplace ethics and the serious consequences of any behavior constituting sexual harassment.
Mrs. Kuljit Kaur delved into:
- Vishakha Guidelines and their significance
- Defining sexual harassment under the POSH Act
- Key features and sections of the Act
- Indicators of harassment and their impact
- Rights of the victim
- Roles and responsibilities of the Internal Committee (IC)
- Supreme Court Guidelines (May 2023)
She also emphasized the importance of compliance with the POSH Act, ensuring complaints are addressed promptly and sensitively. While women are the primary beneficiaries, the training promotes a healthier, more inclusive work environment for everyone. Such initiatives are crucial in creating a respectful and inclusive workplace.
