What started as a simple paper mosaic activity blossomed into an inspiring blend of art and theatre, as students of grade VIII brought O.Henry’s classic The Last Leaf to life! Using tiny pieces of colorful paper, they created beautiful mosaic ivy leaves and titled their artwork “The Leaf That Saved a Life.” Each leaf symbolizes hope and resilience, just like in the story.
But the creativity didn’t stop there! In small groups, students prepared and performed one-minute skits retelling the touching story of how a painted leaf by a struggling artist gave a dying girl the will to live. The mini-plays were heartfelt, imaginative, and full of emotion.
This activity was a wonderful example of how literature, visual art, and drama can come together to deepen understanding and spark creativity. So proud of our students for their talent and pass
