Grade IV Nature Walk & Sensory Bag Activity

Our five sense organs—eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin—help us explore and understand the world around us. To help students experience this concept firsthand, Grade IV participated in an exciting and interactive learning session.

The day began with a refreshing Nature Walk, where students were divided into groups of four. Each group focused on one sense—some observed birds, trees, and insects using their eyes, while others used their nose to smell wet grass, curry leaves, and the fresh outdoor air. Some explored the sense of touch by feeling the texture of leaves, tree bark, and pebbles. After the walk, the children eagerly shared their observations and penned them down, enhancing both their sensory awareness and descriptive writing skills.

Next, the children participated in the Sensory Mystery Bag activity, which was filled with exciting items like bells, coins, cloves, perfume, and chips. They explored these items using touch, smell, hearing, and taste, guessing what each object could be. This activity was not only fun but also encouraged students to use their senses more mindfully and describe their experiences with accuracy and detail.

It was a joyful and enriching experience that brought learning to life in the most sensory way!
