EVS Activity

Celebrating “Work Around Us” – Understanding Occupations

As part of the EVS theme "Work Around Us," students of Classes IV A, B, and C explored the world of occupations around them. From skilled professionals like doctors and teachers to unskilled yet essential workers like vendors and helpers, our students learned that every job holds value and every worker deserves respect.

To bring this lesson to life, two enriching activities were conducted:

Flashcard Activity:

Students explored a variety of occupations through vibrant flashcards, helping them distinguish between skilled and unskilled jobs. The activity sparked thoughtful conversations about the role of community helpers like police officers, vegetable vendors, house help, and more.

Role-Play Activity:

Brimming with excitement, students dressed up as their favourite professionals—chefs, cricketers, pilots, doctors, and more! With confidence and enthusiasm, they enacted their roles and shared insights about their chosen professions. This not only enhanced their communication skills but also instilled a deeper respect for all forms of work.

These hands-on activities beautifully reinforced the value of dignity of labour and highlighted the importance of appreciating every individual who contributes to our society.
