At IHS School, the ground came alive with colours, music, and joy as Grade IX students hosted a special assembly celebrating Raksha Bandhan and Sanskrit Diwas. The event beautifully wove together the warmth of sibling love and the reverence for India’s ancient language.
The programme opened with a heartfelt introduction to Raksha Bandhan, highlighting how it nurtures care, trust, and protection between brothers and sisters. The students presented a well-scripted skit showing the deeper meaning of Raksha Bandhan and its roots, highlighting the divine and protective bond between Lord Krishna and Draupadi showcasing Krishna’s role as Draupadi’s guardian during her difficult times, emphasizing that sibling-like love and protection transcends biological relationships. This was followed by a reminder of Sanskrit Diwas, honouring the timeless language that has gifted the world sacred scriptures, poetry, and wisdom. Students recited Sanskrit shlokas and shared their meanings, adding depth to the celebration.
A lively dance performance, with vibrant costumes and graceful moves, captured the joy of Raksha Bandhan. The fun continued with interactive games that sparked laughter, strengthened bonds, and tested quick thinking. The winning pair was crowned ‘Siblings of the Year’ by the senior school Headmistress, making the day even more memorable.
