Bal Veer Diwas

“Four things support the world: the learning of the wise, the justice of the great, the prayers of the good and the valor of the brave”.

Veer Baal Diwas is organized on 26th December 2024 as a nationwide celebration dedicated to honouring children as the foundation of India’s future. This year, the theme for Veer Baal Diwas was ‘Veerta’ which means acts of courage, kindness, and resilience. Every year as ‘Bal Veer Diwas ‘is commemorated to pay homage to the great valour and supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh ji, the younger sons of the tenth guru of Sikhs, guru Gobind Singhji, on 26 December 1704, at the tender age of 9 and 7 years respectively, in their quest for justice. In order to facilitate the same, students participated in a number of activities that were planned.

The commemoration commenced with the narration to classes I to V the story of Chaar Sahibzaade addressing the themes of sacrifice, courage, respect and responsibility along with the painting on the suggested topic: My Dream for India or What makes me happy.

Grade VI-IX expressed their views on the Role of children in National Building and My vision of Vikskit Bharat. Grade XI highlighted and debated on the same and they realized what an important role they can play in the emancipation of their own Bharat.

These sets of activities allowed students to not only pay tribute to the courage of the Sahibzades and their quest for justice but also led the students to have vision of a world that is inclusive and harmonious.
