Constitution Day

On November 26th, our school celebrated Indian Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. This day is significant as it reminds us of the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that are enshrined in the Constitution of India.

Students learned that the Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on this day in 1949 and came into effect on January 26th, 1950, marking India as a republic. Students participated in a reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. In the classrooms, they were engaged in various activities to deepen the understanding of the Constitution. Students of senior grades researched the key milestones of the timeline of the making of the Indian Constitution. The presentation was followed by a discussion on the event’s significance and its role in shaping the Constitution. Each student shared their findings, which sparked discussions about how the Constitution protects our rights and ensures fairness in society. Our students also wrote Poem and had a reading activity on 5Ws of Constitution. The 5Ws were as Who: Who made the Constitution? What: What is the Constitution? When: When was the Constitution adopted? Where: Where was it made? Why: Why was the Constitution created? Activities also included poster-making where students creatively expressed the ideals of the Constitution through their artwork. Human chain formation reflected on the fundamental principles that guide our nation and to appreciate the rights and duties we have as citizens of India.
