Grade IV Math Subject Enrichment Activity- Indian City Population Poster Activity

An engaging and informative classroom activity titled “Indian City Population Poster” was conducted to enhance students’ understanding of numbers through real-life data. As part of this activity, students selected five major cities of India and researched their population figures.

They carefully represented the population of each city by writing the number names and expanded forms, which helped strengthen their understanding of place value concepts in a practical and meaningful way. Students presented their work creatively on A4 sheets, decorating their posters with colours, borders, and relevant illustrations.

This activity not only reinforced mathematical concepts but also increased students’ awareness of the population of different Indian cities. It encouraged research skills, neat presentation, and creativity, making the learning experience both enjoyable and effective.
