Division Wheel Activity – Grade IV

Division Wheel Activity – Grade IV

To strengthen students’ understanding of division and make mathematical learning more engaging, Grade IV students participated in a fun and interactive Division Wheel Activity. The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore division concepts through a creative, hands-on approach.

Each student designed a colourful division wheel by writing a number in the centre and identifying different numbers that could divide it. They then worked out and recorded the correct quotient for each division fact. Through this process, students actively practised division rather than simply solving problems from a worksheet.

The activity encouraged students to recall division facts, recognise number patterns, improve mental calculation, and develop accuracy and speed in computation. It also helped them understand the relationship between dividends, divisors, and quotients in a simple and visual manner.

The creative format encouraged students to think independently, check their answers, and learn from their peers. It also promoted active participation, confidence, and mathematical reasoning.

Overall, the Division Wheel Activity transformed a challenging mathematical concept into a colourful, meaningful, and enjoyable learning experience, helping students strengthen their conceptual understanding while making division easy to practise and remember.
