From Sounds to Words: Our CVC Learning Adventure!
Our UKG classrooms were buzzing with excitement as our little learners explored the ‘-at’ word family through a fun-filled CVC Word Building Activity!
Using colourful lettered ice-cream sticks, they built words like cat, bat, hat, and mat, practised sound decoding, and enjoyed sand-letter tracing to reinforce letter-sound recognition.
Picture flashcards helped them read and match CVC words with the correct pictures, while interactive CVC games on Wordwall added an extra dose of fun! The children then strengthened their learning by writing and drawing related words in their notebooks.
Through these engaging, hands-on experiences, our young learners developed phonics, reading, writing, fine-motor skills, confidence, and joyful participation—turning every sound into a step towards becoming confident readers!
